Editorial Guidelines

Trust is the most important thing we have. These guidelines explain how articles on Active Pages are written, reviewed and kept accurate.

Accuracy

We aim for advice that is practical and correct. Where rules, prices or regulations vary by state or change over time, we say so and suggest checking an official source. Health, dental, legal and financial articles are general information only and are not a substitute for professional advice.

Guest writers

Guest articles are reviewed by an editor before they are published. We check that they are original, helpful and on-topic, and we may edit them for clarity or accuracy. Writers who consistently meet our standards can become trusted contributors.

Sponsored content and links

Content that is paid for is labelled Sponsored. Links in guest and sponsored articles may carry nofollow or sponsored attributes. Payment never buys a positive opinion in our own editorial articles.

AI and automation

We may use software tools to help with research, images or formatting, but a person is responsible for what we publish. Any article drafted with AI assistance is disclosed as such.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please tell us. We fix confirmed mistakes promptly and update the article.
